Sometimes it's best to get the most popular. What are the most popular smartwatches from Garmin, and why are these models so popular?

In this article, we take a look at 6 of the most popular lines from Garmin. They're ranked in descending order of how they've sold at Watch 365 over the past year, and we'll also play a little with the idea of why each series is so popular.

1. Fenix

Fenix is the cavalier in Garmin. It's not very often that the most popular line is nearly the most expensive, but it's true at Garmin.

Why do people reach for the Fenix?

Because it has everything that Garmin has created over the years. All the smart and sports features. Extra long battery life. Just everything.

The absolute top of the range is the Fenix 8, which comes in two variants - AMOLED and transflective LCD.

In addition to display types, you can also choose across a wide range of case diameters, with the Fenix 8 being made in 43, 47 and 51 millimeter versions.

There's also a new LTE-enabled version coming to market in 2025, the Fenix 8 Pro.

However, the previous generation Fenix 7 PRO has also been very popular so far, and while it doesn't come in an AMOLED version and doesn't support calling, on the other hand, you can get them for a much lower price tag.

2. Venu

We sell six times more men's Fenixes than women's. The Venu range... That's something else entirely.

The women's version of the Venu 4 clearly reigns supreme here. So guys (and women, if you're buying the watch yourself), if you don't want to step on the wrong foot, buy the Venu 4 (41mm).

Just look at it.

Moderate size (41 mm), contactless payment, music player, phone calling, very nice display, and up to 10 days of battery life. What more could you want?

The advantage is that this model uses metallic elements, which makes it a slightly sleeker device.

The fourth generation has surpassed the third with its LED flashlight, advanced sports features, and slightly more metallic case. But if you don't necessarily need these, you can make do with the older generation Venu 3.

3. Tactix

The popularity of the Tactix range is hard to explain. It's a watch with exactly the same features as the Fenix 7X, they just added military features that none of you (except soldiers) will realistically use anyway.

I can think of one reason, though. Have you seen this watch?

Whatever anyone wants to say, but the Fenixes can't match the Tactix in design. Their black coloring, flat 24-hour lunette... If you see it in person, you'll succumb.

In fact, I wear Tactixes on my wrist too, and whenever someone picks up a Fenix, sooner or later they look at my wrist and ask, "What do you wear? Those are really nice."

After I explain what kind of watch it is, they split into two groups. Those who prefer a better price and those who succumb and pay extra for the Tactix's novel design.

4. Forerunner

Forerunner is for runners, that is, for runners. There are so many Forerunners that it will be easiest to direct you to a quick selection guide within this range.

The best-selling model is the one with a great price/performance ratio - the Forerunner 965. This model charmed me because it costs under 13,000 CZK, has topographic maps, contactless payments, 23-day battery life, perhaps all both smart and sports features... Do you really need more arguments?

Interestingly, there is a cheaper variant of this model - the Forerunner 265. That one uses AMOLED technology (nicer colors, higher contrast) display, has a decent base of features, but a lot of people will probably be put off by the absence of maps. But that's just a guess...

Then the hot new thing is the Forerunner 970, which has an LED flashlight, sapphire crystal and phone capability above and beyond, bringing it closer to the top of the line from Garmin.

But some people don't want to pay 10,000 Kč or more for a sportstester and just want the basics - to measure distance, heart rate, steps. What more do you want? Don't expect payment, don't expect navigation, music player, none of that. The Forerunner 55 perfectly fulfills the sufficient basics at a nice price tag.

5. Epix

The Epix 2 PRO is just as polished as the Fenix series. Play music, pay with contactless, look at a map, get navigated... So what's the difference? The display. Again and again.

The Epixy uses a really nice AMOLED display, which somehow meets the demands of today's modern world.

The big benefit of the Epix is definitely the backlighting, because it really does glow beautifully and is therefore much more suitable for someone who is visually impaired.
