The bestseller from each smartwatch brand we sell

Why is a bestseller a bestseller? Sometimes the answer is simple, other times more nuanced. In this article, we’ll look at the top-selling model from each smartwatch brand we offer and try to explain why these particular models resonate most with users.

For a while now, I’ve been hearing requests to put together a list of the best-selling models for each brand. You asked for it, so here it is.

Of course, models that have been on the market a bit longer than their successors often come out on top, but I wanted to be as transparent as possible.

We’ll also break down why I think each model is a bestseller. And I can say right away that one reason runs through every brand and bestseller: value for money.

Amazfit

Top-selling model from this brand: Amazfit T-Rex 3

I don’t want to speculate too much, but there’s no doubt men are behind the strong sales numbers. This model is built to take a beating, it’s packed with features, has an outdoor-ready look, delivers long battery life, and still comes in at a reasonable price.

And let’s be honest: in our market, outdoor gear is popular even for everyday wear, and great value for money matters a lot. I’ve even said more than once that the T-Rex feels tailor-made for our market.

Then Amazfit followed up with the T-Rex 3 Pro, adding sapphire crystal and an LED flashlight—making it fair to call it a no-compromise device.

Combine that with the fact Amazfit has been doing great work in recent years—and we even named it our most progressive brand on the podcast—and it’s hard to go wrong with Amazfit today.

Key features of T-Rex 3:

  • battery life up to 27 days
  • meets military-grade durability standards
  • navigation with maps
  • rich and accurate sensor suite
  • large 1.5" display reaching up to 2,000 nits

Coros

Top-selling model from this brand: Coros Pace 3

Honestly, it’s hard to find a better affordable sports watch than the Coros Pace 3. The brand has a philosophy of not differentiating models too much by features.

So if you find a device from Coros that’s twice the price, the differences are more in materials, battery life, and perhaps extras like maps or calling. But in terms of training specifically? There’s nothing you’re truly missing out on.

I’m not saying these are for outdoor enthusiasts, but for road runners they cover everyone from complete beginners to elite athletes. And who doesn’t like a good price?

If you’re curious about all the training metrics, I’ve broken them down in the article below:

They’re versatile not only in price and features but also in design. Let’s admit it: it’s not a head-turner, but it’s not an eyesore either—just a straightforward sports smartwatch.

What’s genuinely surprising is the weight: just 30 grams with the nylon strap.

Key features of Coros Pace:

  • comprehensive training features
  • ultralight weight around 30 grams
  • battery life up to 24 days
  • breadcrumb navigation

Garmin

Top-selling model from this brand: Garmin Forerunner 965

Garmin Forerunner 965 Black / Powder Gray
489,00 € in stock

You know, if there’s something that’s frustrated Garmin users in recent years, it’s the high price tag of the top-tier models. And then there’s the Garmin Forerunner 965.

It offers maps, NFC payments, a music player, and a full suite of health and sports features. Yes—if I didn’t work where I work, the Garmin Forerunner 965 would very likely be my smartwatch.

Credit where it’s due: plenty of brands offer maps today, but few match Garmin’s execution. Whether it’s scale, labels, trail colors, or the ability to create routes right on the watch, Garmin is simply ahead.

Another major draw here is the titanium bezel. Cheaper Garmin sport models usually have fewer metal parts, but the Forerunner 965 sits in the high-end tier, offering a versatile design for both training and the office.

Key features of Garmin Forerunner 965:

  • long battery life up to 23 days
  • versatile, premium design
  • truly detailed maps
  • a well-rounded set of smart, sports, and health features

Huawei

Top-selling model from this brand: Huawei Watch GT 5

If I bought the Huawei Watch GT 5 and someone asked me why, my answer would be simple: Have you seen these watches?

They won’t break the bank, yet they look genuinely premium. And it’s not just about the steel case and handsome curves. The display, the UI, and the overall feature set all feel polished.

You can make calls from them, they measure everything they’re supposed to with great accuracy, they hold a charge for a long time... Honestly, it’s hard to find major downsides with the Watch GT line. They’re simply fully featured, all-round smartwatches that don’t cost much.

Key features of Huawei Watch GT 5:

  • premium, elegant design
  • calling capability
  • well-rounded feature set

Polar

Top-selling model from this brand: Polar Pacer

If you’re surprised that Polar’s bestseller is the Pacer, don’t worry—you’re not alone.

But it makes sense. Polar lacked a truly accessible sports piece, and when they came up with the Pacer—an ideal path for beginner athletes and even triathletes—it clearly struck a chord.

There’s also a PRO version on the market offering things like running power and navigation, but apparently that’s not enough of a draw for most people to pay extra.

Instead, they chose the basic Pacer, which tells you everything about your training, measures heart rate accurately (Polar prides itself on that), tracks sleep well, and doesn’t offer add-ons like a music player, NFC, or calling—because it’s a pure training device.

Key features of Polar Pacer:

  • a wide range of sports features
  • long battery life with GPS on
  • quality sleep tracking
  • accurate heart-rate measurement

Suunto

Top-selling model from this brand: Suunto Core

Have you seen Rocky V, where a retired boxer wins a street fight against a young, strong fighter? That’s a perfect metaphor for the Suunto Core competing against the rest of this Finnish brand’s portfolio.

Even though the brand launched this model back in 2007, it still outperforms its younger successors in sales.

One thing can be said about this watch—it isn’t “smart.” But here’s the other thing—it doesn’t matter. Imagine you’re heading somewhere with limited access to electricity but still need the basics for orientation: a compass, barometer, and altimeter (ABC sensors). Suunto also adds a thermometer and a depth gauge.

The watch has a backlit display, water resistance down to 10 meters of real depth, and battery life up to 2 years. Of course, that depends on how often you use it, but the replacement battery is the same kind you put in a kitchen scale—so you can stash one anywhere and it adds virtually no weight.

Key features of Suunto Core:

  • battery life up to 2 years
  • essential sensors for navigation in the field
  • solid water resistance
  • distinctive design

Xiaomi

Top-selling model from this brand: Xiaomi Watch 2 PRO

In my view, there are two main reasons why the Watch 2 PRO is so popular—it supports LTE (calling independently of your phone) and it runs Google’s Wear OS.

It hardly needs explaining why LTE is useful, but just in case: you can receive and make calls right from the watch without your phone being in range.

Not everyone realizes how useful Google’s operating system can be—you get access to tens of thousands of apps to expand what your watch can do. You don’t have to rely solely on the watch maker; a wealth of vetted developers build apps for Wear OS smartwatches.

Putting aside payments, streaming service support, and LTE, the look itself is a big draw. The steel case and leather strap make for a strong combination.

The weak spot here is battery life—you’ll barely reach 2 days. Fortunately, the Watch 2 PRO supports fast charging.

Key features of Xiaomi Watch 2 PRO:

  • LTE connectivity
  • elegant design
  • the option to install thousands of apps
