The 14 Best Garmin Badges and How to Earn Them

They motivate, entertain, and sometimes drive you to the brink of madness. Garmin badges are proof that even as adults we can still enjoy "stickers"—we just have to sweat a bit more for them.

Let me be frank right from the start—I’m not a fan of badges. I’ve met plenty of people who collected them to the point of obsession, which put me off a bit. But many of them do motivate users toward a healthier lifestyle, so… why not?

But if you’re going to collect them, why not focus on the most interesting—or even the most extreme—ones?

Let’s take a look!

1. Zombie (1 point)

This badge spreads like an infection. Literally. You have to find someone who has it and connect with them in Garmin Connect.

2. Toast (2 points)

Record an activity in temperatures above 38 °C. You can probably guess what you’ll turn into… yes, toast. A clear challenge for your next holiday in Croatia.

3. Flying Squirrel (2 points)

The name doesn’t quite give away what Garmin actually wants from you. It’s nothing "complicated," though: just log a wingsuit activity.

4. Passionate Diver (2 points)

"Passionate maybe, but certainly not a diver." (a classic Czech film reference)

True, you won’t find many badges nodding to Czech pop culture in Garmin Connect, but there is at least one! It can be yours once you log 100 dives!

5. Rise and Work Out (2 points)

Since we’re on Czech culture, here’s a subtle nod to Bob and Bobek. I, for one, have no desire to crawl out of a warm hat, but if you want this badge, you must log an activity every day for one week between 4:00 and 7:00.

An easier version of this badge is Lark (1 point), where you only need to record at least one activity between 4:00 and 7:00. A similar badge is Owl (1 point), where you just need to start an activity between 22:00 and 4:00.

6. Jump Right In (2 points)

My jump-rope skills are miserable, but if you’re at least a bit handy—and above all persistent—you can earn this badge by completing 15,000 repetitions in a single jump-rope activity.

7. Madness (8 points)

As the name implies, this one is anything but easy and will likely take hundreds—maybe thousands—of hours of training. You have to run 100 miles (just under 161 kilometers) in a single activity.

There are lots of similar badges—run 100 km, ride 100 miles on the bike... But none of them comes even close to being a freebie.

8. Legendary Sleep (2 points)

While many of these badges can be earned if you just grit your teeth, this one isn’t so straightforward. Get some sleep—but not just any sleep. Sleep as well as you possibly can. If you hit a Sleep Score of 100, your slumber becomes legendary and you’ll earn this badge.

9. 30 × 30 (2 points)

30 days in a row with at least 30 minutes of recorded sport activity. Can you do it?

10. Fast Forty (4 points)

This one will make you sweat a bit: ride 40 kilometers at an average speed of at least 40 km/h.

11. Fast One Sixty (8 points)

Earlier I mentioned there’s a badge for riding 100 miles. You’ll need that distance for this one too, but you’re on the clock. You’ve got just 5 hours!

12. Intensity 300 (8 points)

The name tells you most of what you need to know—and again, it won’t be easy. Earning this badge requires 300 intensity minutes in a single day.

There are less demanding versions—Intensity 200, Intensity 150 and Intensity 100. You can probably guess what they require: 200, 150 and 100 minutes of intense activity in a single day.

13. 60-Day Goal (8 points)

This badge is more of a long-haul effort: you need to hit your daily step goal for 60 consecutive days. You can make it tougher if you’ve enabled a daily increase to your step goal. :)

There’s a similar badge, "10K a Day," where you must log at least 10,000 steps per day for thirty consecutive days.

14. Everest (8 points)

If you accumulate 8,848 meters of elevation gain in terms of daily floors climbed, this badge can be yours.
